The Onshoji Temple was founded by a holy priest, Echigo Ajari Nichiben Shonin, and belongs to the Nichiren sect of Buddhism. The temple was built in 1294 (http://onsyouji.com/onshoji_E.html; https://onsyoujihogara.sakura.ne.jp/). Located in Sutama-cho, Hokuto, Yamanash Prefecture, the temple is known for its summer cypress around this time of the year.
